Preventing Hemorrhoids: Things to Avoid

Aside from making use of the information supplied by the e-book Hemorrhoid Miracle, arming yourself with the basic knowledge on how to live a hemorrhoid free life is the first step to effectively preventing it. This is a common ailment which can affect anyone, regardless of age, sex and situation in life. With that said, there are a lot of things that contribute to their growth, which is why it is important to know what they are and take the necessary steps in order to avoid them. You do not have to drastically change the way you live, you just need to observe a few small and minor measures which are:

Avoid the consuming the wrong types of food
Whole Grain Foods
Obesity and an overall unhealthy diet is a huge problem in the United States and is one of the reasons why a lot of people are seeking treatment for hemorrhoids. Gorging yourself with burgers larger than your hands and hundreds of french fries will definitely cause stool problems. Undigested meat makes up a majority of the expelled stools, which is why it is important to consume the recommended amount. Hardened stools need a lot of pressure to expel, which is a recipe for hemorrhoids.  Aside from digestive problems, these types of food have high sodium and fat content, which can wreak havoc on your heart, kidneys and liver. Sometimes, we really cannot avoid eating foods like these and the best we can do is to do so moderately. With that said, what are the types of food that you must consume to have happy potty sessions?

  • Green, leafy vegetables like broccoli and cabbage
  • Fruits and juices of any kind, especially pineapples which are rich in fiber
  • Whole grain bread and cereals
These kinds of food stuff have one thing in common: they contain a good amount of fiber. This substance helps out in softening the stools, making them easier to expel. Also remember to pair these with substantial amounts of water

Avoid improper bowel movement practices

Improper bowel procedures may actually cause hemorrhoids to grow, which is why it is important to practice them correctly. Though this may sound trivial to you, you may be actually doing it wrong. Here are some things to avoid:
  • Clean it thoroughly. Though we have been taught to clean the sensitive parts with either tissue paper or wipes, thinking that it is enough. However, this procedure does not actually disinfect or completely remove the remaining fecal material, so in this case, use antibacterial soap and water.
  • Squatting during potty sessions will actually make expulsion easier, but this may look rather comical. Instead, avoid long periods of sitting especially during potty sessions.
Avoiding the situations listed above will definitely work wonders in the long run. Doing these will not only prevent hemorrhoids, but will also promote an overall healthy lifestyle. Always remember, consult your doctor and do not take advice from unknown sources.
