What do you do in case of Hemorrhoids?

Though it may seem to be a pretty embarrassing ailment, hemorrhoids are pretty common the United States since a lot of people have experienced it or any of its symptoms. Basically, this is characterized by the growth of swollen blood vessels in the rectal area, like in the anus. There are two types of hemorrhoids, internal and external. Internal hemorrhoids are typically painless, however they are prone to bleeding and may extend to the outside of the anus (called a prolapse) and may cause severe problems. Once outside, it may gather stool materials, therefore accumulating bacteria. We all know that the waste we expel is rich in bacteria that came from the intestines and ones it is able to reach the hemorrhoid, it may cause harsh irritation and the resulting effects of which may take a lot from the person who is experiencing it. With that said, there are some things you may want to take into consideration once you are somehow experiencing it, which are:

Consult with your physician first

Right after you found out about what you are feeling, make sure to immediately consult with your trusted physician. In lighter cases, he may prescribe something for the pain plus medical advice. However, in severe cases like if there is a substantial amount of blood in your stool, then he may actually do  a visual exam of your anus, followed by inserting a lubricated, gloved finger into it in order to feel your hemorrhoids. However, in extreme cases like when the anus is completely covered by the hemorrhoid or has been infected, then surgery may be an imperative.

Eat food that will make bowel movement easier

foods rich in fiber

Overconsumption of hard food and meat will make bowel movement really hard, considering the amount of waste and its texture that will be excreted as this may irritate the ongoing bout with hemorrhoids if you are experiencing which. Better cut the cheeseburgers and the steaks and replace them with fiber rich food like pineapple and leafy greens. Of course, you do not have to entirely give up your meat diet, but just make sure to pair it with some healthy greens and pineapple juice! However, if you can’t get rid of meat in your daily diet, just try to find a way to reduce the fat content of what you are eating.

Regular bowel sessions, hygiene and exercise

It is always a necessity to clean the anal area with soap and water after a session with the toilet. Regular baths and cleaning will definitely reduce the chances of hemorrhoids from occurring; but if they do, then it will lessen the chances of infection and infestation of various bacteria. Regular exercise will not only be able to eliminate fat and toxins, but it will also be able to promote bowel movement. Remember the urge you get after jogging or after a strenuous physical activity? Regular or scheduled sessions with the call of nature will also help out a lot in prevention of which. Remember, an overall healthy lifestyle is one of the keys to a perfect bowel health.
