myths on hemorrhoids Seeking hemorrhoid relief nowadays is a pretty easy task, considering the fact that medical science has provide remedies and medical procedures that can rid the painful growths and swellings in both your anal and rectal area. However, like all things, hemorrhoids are still shrouded in mystery - at least to some people who are blissfully ignorant of what they really are. Misconceptions and half-truths are everywhere, and unfortunately, a lot of people still believe them. With that said, lets clear these things up, shall we?

Hemorrhoids are not curable
Sadly, there are some people that actually believe that hemorrhoid relief is not possible. This fallacy is laughable, once you consider the very nature of hemorrhoids and what they really are. First off, they are just a bunch of swollen blood vessels in the rectal area. Their very form gives them the ability to change over time. In most mild cases, medical intervention is not even necessary – it only needed proper hygiene and an overall healthy lifestyle to do the trick. In severe cases, there are surgical procedures that can remove the swellings and the offending blood vessels to remove the possibility of hemorrhoids once and for all.

Hemorrhoids can cause cancer

People fail to seek hemorrhoid relief because of the fear of them being cancerous. People do not want to hear bad news which is why they avoid treatment – a trait that will lead to even bigger consequences. Debunking this myth is pretty easy: hemorrhoids are just composed of swollen veins – the worst things that you can get from hemorrhoids (if untreated) are infection and gangrene. Hemorrhoids do not in any way cause cancer and they are not malignant pieces of flesh. However, colon cancer can cause hemorrhoid growth, given that the tumors may exert extra pressure on the rectal area.

External and Internal Hemorrhoid

Black pepper, condiments and spices can cause hemorrhoids

Black pepper, spicy foods and other condiments may irritate the rectal area of the people who are either allergic or have sensitive bottoms, but they do not cause hemorrhoids. There is no scientific or medical evidence that points to which. As a precaution though, do not consume too much, since it will lead to other complications

Hemorrhoids are only exclusive to older people

Contrary to popular belief, hemorrhoids can affect anyone, regardless of age and status in life, although it is more commonly found in older people. People who regularly lift weights, are obese and women who have are currently and were recently pregnant are pretty much vulnerable to this ailment. The reason why it is common to older people is because rectal linings and veins get weaker with old age, making them prone to being swollen and inflamed.

Bad bathroom habits, increased strain on the rectal veins, lack of exercise and prolonged sitting or standing can cause hemorrhoids and not by anything else. In order to be fully treated, make sure to get your facts from an acclaimed medical source. Getting ones from clueless people may aggravate the ailment and make your overall experience worse.
